Can a blog also be a website?
It sure can! In fact, WordPress is one of, if not the best web authoring programs out there. It’s versatility means your blog can function as a proper website and not just a blog. I’m willing to bet that at least one of the websites you’ve visited today is run on the WordPress platform – this one included! ;)
How long does it normally take for you to complete a blog setup?
First and foremost, I’m a Mum, and quite a busy one! I’ll need at least 2-3 weeks from when your deposit is received to complete your site setup but will hopefully have it done much sooner for you. If there’s going to be any delays, I’ll keep you posted.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We currently only accept payments via PayPal and Direct Deposit. We now have an easy online invoicing system where you can pay via PayPal direct from your invoice!
Why do I need to pay half up front?
A new WordPress installation including all the bells and whistles takes time so I charge 50% up front to ensure that I won’t be taken advantage of (yes, it’s happened before and I’ve learnt from my mistake!).
What information do you need to know to complete my order?
When you initially contact BMAB, you’ll be asked to complete an order form describing what your requirements are and what your site will be used for and any other relevant information.
WordPress.com is free. Why is a self-hosted WordPress blog better?
I’ve used a WordPress.com blog before and although the layout is very similar to a self-hosted WordPress blog, your options are very limited. With the free WordPress.com, you are unable to add a custom theme as you’re limited to the few that they have and you can’t use any of the awesome plugins on offer.
Can you transfer my WordPress site from my old hosting company to a new one?
We sure can! This is called a Site Transfer.
Can you move my WordPress.com or Blogger blog to a self-hosted WordPress blog?
Yes but there are certain known issues with transferring from Blogger but I’ll do my best and can guarantee it’ll be worth it. :)
Do you offer support with your services?
After you purchase a package, you are entitled to one weeks worth of free technical support (to a degree) and after that time you are then able to use the ticketed support system via email and access our Support Forum. We do not offer support for individual themes or plugins as most creators of these offer this type of support themselves (I’m happy to help you find it though). We have also just introduced some new Technical Support Packages.
Why do you need the login information for my own hosting?
I’ll need access to this information to be able to install all the WordPress files, upload plugins and themes, set up your email account/s, etc. I understand the sensitivity of this information and every precaution is taken to keep this information secure but it’s still recommended that you change your password for your own peace of mind once our services are completed.
Do you design custom themes or graphics?
At this stage, no, but we are more than happy to recommend NattyJane Designs for all your website graphic design needs.
